POSTS / ALL POSTS / PUT YOUR CHILDREN ON THE PATH TO A HEALTHIER FUTURE

News flash: Nearly 1 in 5 children between the ages of 6 and 19 are obese. The CDC reports the percentage of obese children and adolescents has more than tripled since the 1970s. Childhood obesity is a serious issue in the U.S., and it can cause health problems now and in the future.

You can help your children maintain a healthy weight and prevent significant health issues in the future by encouraging them to participate in high school sports.

Research shows children who participate in high school sports and remain physically active as adults are less likely to be obese. They also have a lower incidence of heart disease, stroke and cancer and lower healthcare costs.

Start helping your children establish healthy habits now by encouraging them to participate in high school sports. It will set them on a path toward managing their weight and preventing health problems in the future.
